Deanna Grimstead's Potential is Endless.

Deanna Grimstead 's Future: While Deanna Grimstead has experienced much in her life, Deanna Grimstead is always ready for new adventures and new experiential and service pathway where she can use all of her strengths: compassion, morality, patience, commitment, can-do attitude, self-reflectiveness, excellent communication (oral and written), a team player, and a strong commitment to and value for diversity, equity, and inclusion.  


Personal Bio: Deanna Grimstead is a fun-loving behavioral ecologist, chef, gardener, hunter/fisher, and meditates. While Deanna Grimstead's formal training includes a Ph.D. in anthropology with a Ph.D. minor in Geochemistry (specializaion in paleoecology, some of her most important training occurred while growing up in rural Northeastern California. Since then, Deanna Grimstead has worked in places throughout the globe including, Argentina, Azerbaijan, Turkey, Scotland, Ireland, and various parts of Canada and Mexico. While Deanna was raised in Northern California, fought fire in Chico, California - Butte Unit, received a PhD in Tucson, Arizona, was a Professor at Ohio State University, Deanna Grimstead now lives and loves living in Oregon; continue to serve her community like she always has. 


Fire & First Responder Service: Before Deanna Grimstead obtained her Ph.D. in Anthropology with a Ph.D. minor in Geochemistry, she worked and loved her job as a fire fighter with CAL Fire and the Butte County fire department. Deanna Grimstead served with pride, honor, and commitment; traits she continues to value in herself today and in others. While leaving the fire service was a difficult decision, she continued to serve as a search and rescue diver for the Southern Arizona Rescue Association / Pima County Sheriff’s office. Deanna Grimstead currently serves as the Oregon Department of Forestry's Tribal Liaison, where fire fighting is a part of her duties, but most importantly communication, relationship biulding, and fostering humility and respect in ODF is where her skills are needed today. Deanna Grimstead is honored to have known and served with truly the best people our world has to offer.
