Deanna Grimstead 's Future: While Deanna Grimstead has experienced much in her life, Deanna is ready for new adventures and a new career pathway where she can use all of her strengths: Compassion, morality, patience, commitment, can-do attitude, self-reflectiveness, excellent communication (oral and written), a team player, and a strong commitment to and value for diversity, equity, and inclusion.


Personal Bio: Deanna Grimstead is a fun-loving behavioral ecologist, chef, gardener, hunter/fisher, and meditates. While her formal training includes a Ph.D. in anthropology with a Ph.D. minor in Geoscience – Geochemistry, some of her most important training occurred while growing up in rural Northeastern communities in California. Since then, Deanna Grimstead has worked in places throughout the globe including, Argentina, Azerbaijan, Turkey, Scotland, Ireland, and various parts of Canada and Mexico.


Fire & First Responder Service: Before Deanna Grimstead obtained her Ph.D. in Anthropology with a Ph.D. minor in Geosciences – Geochemistry, she worked and loved her job as a fire fighter with CAL Fire and the Butte County fire department. Deanna Grimstead served with pride, honor, and commitment; traits she continues to value in herself today and in other. While leaving the fire service was a difficult decision, she continued to serve as a search and rescue diver for the Southern Arizona Rescue Association / Pima County Sheriff’s office. Deanna Grimstead is honored to have known and served with truly the best people our world has to offer.
